ASIS&T IA Summit 2001

so, i spent last weekend milling around the ASIS Summit on Information Architecture, a two-day festouche of information architects and library/info science types. yes, two days of IA shop talk at the SF Airport Hyatt - talk about your good-time party junket... but seriously, much of the conference was actually worthwhile. high points for me were Lilian Svec's case study on developing an integrated IA practice at Sapient in the wake of the Studio Archetype/Adjacency merger, and Lisa Kamm's case study on IBM.com, a subject all too near and dear ... and not a little difficult for me to play spectator to a project i spent 4 years working on...

for those of you who couldn't make it, the ever-industrious peterme has published a good conference summary, to which christina wodtke adds her own musings.

i presented a case study on Spotlife, and will post a copy to my site whenever i can get my loaner laptop connected back to the network...
